Introducing Points of Interest
Tag, document, and review locations directly in your digital model, from the office or on site, at any time after capture.
We’ve just released one of the most significant updates we’ve made to the AIM Platform. Users can now add Points of Interest (POIs) directly within the digital model, either during the survey itself or at any point during review afterwards.
That means your team can tag, document, and assess what matters most, whether they’re on site or back at the office.
How it works
Two ways to add POIs
|
📍 During capture Your surveyor tags specific locations, defects, or assets as they walk the property, building a documented record in real time. POIs are automatically placed in the model when processing is complete. |
💻 After capture Specialists review the digital model remotely and add POIs without returning to site. They can label markers, assign categories, choose colours, and attach photos, notes, and documents. |
What this looks like in practice
Built for every role in your team
|
Fire Safety
A fire safety inspector reviews multiple properties from the office, tagging risks and compliance issues remotely, without a site visit. |
Surveying
A surveyor identifies defects during and after a survey, reducing or removing the need for a return visit. |
|
Asset Management
An asset manager builds a complete defect and asset register directly from captured data, across an entire portfolio. |
Project Management
A project manager validates site progress and signs off on works, all without attending site. |
The person with the camera doesn’t need to be the expert. The expert doesn’t need to be on site. And with POIs added during capture, the specialist’s insight is built into the record from the moment the survey begins.
What each POI can hold
More than a marker
|
🏷️
|
Labels and categories
Give each POI a name such as “Boiler” or “Damp – Kitchen Wall” and assign it to a category set by your organisation for consistent tagging across all sites. |
|
🎨
|
Colour coding
Use different colours to visually separate categories at a glance — red for defects, blue for assets, green for compliance items. |
|
📎
|
Attached documents
Pin certificates, reports, or photos directly to the relevant location in the model, such as a gas safety record at the boiler’s exact position. |

Photos and voice notes
POIs captured via the AIM Capture app can include phone photos, 360° photos, and voice notes, placed automatically when the model is processed. |
Why this matters
Your data working harder
AIM Platform has always been built around the idea that data captured once should do more than one job. POIs extend that principle into your review and assessment workflows, turning the digital model into a working document your whole team can contribute to, remotely, at any point after capture.
And this is just the beginning. Soon you’ll be able to export POIs into dynamic reports for condition surveys, dilapidations, damp and mould, and progress monitoring. The opportunities are endless.
